Claire Edmonds is a bi-coastal freelance director who stages plays and musicals in theaters and universities across the United States.
She is currently an Associate Director for Tony-nominated Saheem Ali at The Public Theater, working on a new play about the climate crisis by David Finnigan, premiering in 2028. Focusing on new plays, she has previously staged new works for artists such as John Patrick Shanley. She was the New York Resident Director for the award-winning Trainspotting Live Off-Broadway. Claire has an MFA in Directing from the UCLA School of Theater Film and Television and a BA with Honors in Directing from the UCI Claire Trevor School of the Arts. In 2026 Claire will teach Directing at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and work with youth at a non-profit whose mission it is to make arts education free for children. Portrait by Sub/Urban Photography |
