Claire Edmonds is a bi-coastal freelance theatre director whose work has been seen in New York City, Los Angeles, Baltimore, Cincinnati and other cities around the US. In recent years the majority of her work has been in NYC (The Tank, Playwrights Horizons, The Flea, Lee Strasberg Institute, NYU Tisch, The Center at Park West, The Medicine Show Theatre, The Hive and others) working with a variety of producers on new and existing plays and musicals. Specializing in new works, her most recent premiere was a series of short plays by John Patrick Shanley titled I am Your Masseuse. Spring of 2022 she was honored to observe Saheem Ali at The Public Theatre, in his staging of James Ijames' Pulitzer-prize winning Fat Ham.
April through October of 2018 Edmonds was the Resident Director for the Off-Broadway production of Trainspotting Live, an immersive retelling of the Irvine Welsh novel about heroin addiction. She is also currently teaching classes for The Paso Robles Youth Arts Center, a non-profit in whose mission is to make arts training free for kids. Edmonds is a proud alumna of the UCI Claire Trevor School of the Arts.
